Workshop on interdisciplinary aspects of bimolecular modelling

In the last Century, biology has gained the attention of researchers coming from different disciplines. Chemists, physicists, computer scientists often collaborate with biologists, pharmacologists and clinicians to understand the complexity of life sciences from different perspectives. In molecular biology the intertwining among disciplines is particularly strong, examples ranging from the discovery of DNA to drug design and to the atomistic understanding of several biological mechanisms. In this context, latest years experienced a remarkable development of computational methods able to capture the complexity of biological systems and suggests new approaches.

In our university there are several interdisciplinary collaborations in the computational study of biomolecules. The workshop taking place next June wishes to push further into this direction, allowing researchers of different Departments to discover the work of their colleagues and to establish new collaborations. This road is that indicated by the League of European Research Universities (LERU), to which our University belongs, in a document published in 2016.

The workshop takes place in room G10 (Settore Didattico in via Golgi) from 9.00 to 18.00 the 26th of June 2019. There will be invited talks and a poster session to stimulate the interactions among participants.
