The CREMA project, CRistal beam Extraction for Medical Accelerators, aims at studying the extraction of proton/ion beams of energy of interest for hadrontherapy synchrotrons, by means of coherent phenomena in a Silicon bent crystal. At the CNAO center in Pavia we will measure for the first time the channeling of low energy ions using high rate/fine granularity Silicon detector for beam mapping. We will also produce a scheme for a realistic implementation of crystal channeling extraction.
